Despite the fact that everyone has an opinion about him, all those are merely based on conjectures. No one really knows where the actor is or what he is doing now. Before we delve into what life is for Kevin Spacey today, let’s take a look briefly at what it has been.

Kevin Spacey’s Career Rise and Achievements

His career started on stage in 1981. He was in Long Day’s Journey into Night (1986) with Jack Lemmon and the 1991 Broadway hit Lost in Yonkers. He transitioned to television in the 80s. His first major TV appearance was in the second-season premiere of Crime Story as a Kennedy-esque American senator.

The American actor, producer, and singer rose to fame in the 1990s for his critically acclaimed roles, mostly as villains. He made his directorial debut with film Albino Alligator (1996). The following year, he founded a production company named Trigger Street Productions. More than three decades ago, Kevin Spacey allegedly made a sexual advance towards 14-year-old Anthony Rapp, in 1986. Rapp opened up in a Buzzfeed interview in October 2017. Spacey has, however, claimed that he has no memory of the alleged incident but offered an apology on Twitter to his accuser nonetheless “for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior”. In addition to his apologies, the House of Cards actor also came out as gay. He says he has had relationships with both men and women and that he “choose[s] now to live as a gay man.” His coming out, however, is by no means a justification for his alleged actions.

Following Rapp’s allegation, numerous other men have come forward alleging that Spacey had sexually harassed or assaulted them. Consequently, he lost most of his contracts. For instance, Netflix severed ties with him, shelving his film Gore and also removed him from the last season of House of Cards. Furthermore, his role as John Paul Getty in All the Money in the World (2017) was reshot with Christopher Plummer taking his place.

In all these, Spacey did not face any lawsuit until December 2018. He was charged with indecent assault and battery over an alleged groping incident in 2016. Heather Unruh, an anchorwoman accused him of sexually assaulting her 18-year-old son. By July 2019, it was revealed that Spacey’s accuser has voluntarily dropped the criminal charge against him. The case was dismissed with prejudice, meaning that his accuser cannot refile the case later.

Although Kevin Spacey has seemingly been exonerated from his alleged crimes, he became a recluse afterward. He withdrew from the public eye and retreated from everything and everyone. He took the time to evaluate his behavior as well as seek treatment. As such, he checked into a prestigious sex addiction treatment center. After a while in the facility, he returned to hiding and at some points was reported to appear in disguises. The allegation also stopped his career in its tracks.

What Is He Doing Now?

The sexagenerian made his first public appearance since the scandal in August 2018 in Rome where he took part in a poetry reading. A Hollywood comeback, however, seems very unlikely for the fallen actor.
