She is the actress who played one of the most beloved characters in the history of television, Mallory Katon from the series Family Ties. The multi-talented actress was born Justine Tanya Bateman on February 19, 1966. She was raised in Rye, New York by her parents Kent Bateman and Victoria Elizabeth. Her father worked as a movie producer, while her mother was an air hostess for Pan Am airline. She has a younger brother named Jason Bateman who is a revered actor, producer, and director in the industry. Justine caught the performance bug at a tender age and began appearing in local plays as a child. By the time she was 15, she began to land roles in commercials.

Justine Bateman attended Taft Charter High School located in Woodland Hills, California. Although she aspired to pursue a college degree, the terms of her contract with Paramount Studios precluded her from doing so as she had to focus on shooting.
