Julie Delpy was born on the 21st of December, 1969 in Paris and for both Julie and her parents, Albert Delpy and Marie Pullet, it was the luckiest day of their lives. Her parents were patrons of the arts, especially performance arts in which they made their career. Her father, Albert, is a notable French actor and a theatre director while her mother is also a French actress who worked both in film and in theatre. She was also a feminist activist.
She was raised in Paris and as such had the formative years of her formal education in the city. For higher learning, however, she attended New York University, studying filmmaking at Tisch School of the Arts, although that was much later in her career because Julie like most talented actresses, got an early start to her acting career.
