His hard work, discipline, and dedication have been acknowledged as he has been given awards such as Emmy Award and the National Journalist Award during the course of his career.

When his career in broadcast Journalism first began at the Washington post, he wrote a post defending Supreme Court Nominee Clarence Thomas who was being accused of sexual harassment with the sworn Testimony of Anita Hill, it turned out that several female employees at The Washington Post had filed sexual harassment suits against Williams which led the paper to publish an apology by Williams and take disciplinary action against him.

After Williams left The Washington Post, he moved on to join the NPR in 2000 and served as a Senior National Correspondent and host of the daily afternoon talk show Talk of the Nation. His career at the NPR took a devastating turn when his contract with the station was terminated for making derogatory remarks towards Muslims on The O’Reilly Factor. He was quoted saying “Look Bill am not a bigot”. Analysts suggested that the main reason Williams was fired was that he made the remarks on Fox News as opposed to making them on any other platform.

Juan Williams is an Emmy winner for his contribution to Television documentary writing. The political documentaries to his credit include Politics: The New Black Power, Civil Rights, and The Press, Dying for Healthcare and Riot to Recovery.
