Joshua was raised in a mixed family as his two older half-siblings, Christopher Wallace Jr. (CJ) and Chyna Griffin, were born from his mother’s previous relationships. He also has a full sibling – Ryder Evans who is his parents’ second child together.

Joshua grew up in a warm, loving full family for the first 13 years of his life. But in 2011 things as he knew them changed, and not exactly for good. His parents’ marriage was badly strained, and they got separated. Poor Joshua was one of the hardest hit by this development, and it took a while but he adjusted to being raised solely by his mother. Joshua’s parents happily tied the knot in the summer of 1998, and their marriage was predicted to last but sadly it did not and crashed 13 years later. Faith Evans was notorious for her extremely rocky love relationships and her first marriage to late rapper Notorious B.I.G. was the genesis of it all.

Upon leaving him in 1997, she immediately moved on with Todd, then a record executive whom she’d met in the course of work. It is believed that it was rapper Missy Elliott who introduced them to each other. Reports also state that she was pregnant with Todd’s child while yet married to Biggie.

Well, the couple got married the following year, and Faith brought her two children from her previous relationships with her. The marriage was peaceful at first, but soon, it became beleaguered with stories of domestic violence, multiple police arrests, drunk driving, and other misdemeanors, all of which the children were witnesses to.

By 2009, they were separated and Faith filed for a divorce which was finalized in 2011. She went on to marry another music producer, Stevie J in 2018, while Todd has remained single since.

At 25, Joshua prides himself as a musical professional with nearly two decades of experience. Under his mother’s tutelage, he began composing music as early as three years old. He was also coached by his father, who was a stellar record producer and this childhood experience basically shaped his future.

Joshua Russaw has three siblings—two brothers and one sister, all born to his mother. His eldest sibling is his sister, Chyna Tahjere Griffin. She was born on April 1, 1993, and is 31 years old now.

She is the product of the early nineties romance between Faith and American music producer, Kiyamma Griffin. The Aries singer has followed her mama into the R&B genre, and only released her first single in early 2021. She is over 5 years older than Joshua.

His second-older sibling is his half-brother, Christopher Wallace Jr. Christopher was born during Faith and Biggie’s marriage on October 29, 1996. The 27-year-old is a music producer, rapper, actor, and businessman.
