American professional football coach Josh McDaniels was born with the full birth name Joshua Thomas McDaniels on 22nd of April 1976 in Barberton, Ohio, the United States of American. His father Thom McDaniels who was a coach of the Ohio high school football team was regarded as one the most respected High School coaches in the United States and was named 1997 High school coach of the year by the USA Today.
Josh McDaniels studied at the Canton McKinley High School before he proceeded to John Carroll University, where he played as a Quarterback.
Professional Coaching Career
The stellar football coach started professional coaching in 1999 as a graduate assistant for the State University of Michigan. After working as an assistant at Michigan University, he proceeded to Cleveland to take a job as a sales personnel. He left Cleveland to join the New England Patriots where he served as a Personal assistant in 2001. He worked as the assistant defensive coach for one year, specialized in the defensive back. He was later made the Quarterback coach of the team in the subsequent year and subsequently, he was made the Offensive Coordinator after the former Offensive coordinator left the team.
Struggling to make a good impact, Josh worked closely with his team head coach to better his chances of growing in the team. He had a very strong interpersonal relationship with his head coach and sometimes contributed his own ideas to how best to run the team effectively. He finally left the team when he was made head coach of the Denver Broncos in a four-year contract.
Josh McDaniels hit his debut season for the Denver Broncos with a straight win for six consecutive times but also suffered four losses at a stretch towards the end of the season. He made an 8-8 seasons record and also had an issue with the team for keeping Brandon Marshall, a Pro Bowl wide receiver on a bench. In the subsequent season, he was sacked by his team due to his poor performance that season ending with a 3-9 record.
After he was fired by the Denver Broncos, he was signed by the St. Louis Rams as an Offensive coordinator under the leadership of Steve Spagnuolo as the Head coach. He stayed in the team for one year as the offensive coordinator and Quarterback coach but soon got restless and made a move to the New England Patriots who signed him on as the team’s Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback coach.
Not being one to rest too long on one, February 2018 saw Josh Mcdaniels named the new head coach of the Indianapolis Colts but he declined the offer and made it known that he has made up his mind to stay with the New England Patriots. However his decision was criticized by former NFL players and Coaches, even his agent Bob LaMonte ended his contract with the coach, but that did not make Josh Mcdaniels go back on his words.
