John Heilemann is a renowned U.S media personality who has served as a journalist and national affair oriented analyst for well-known media outlets like NBC News and MSNBC. John is very vast on issues concerning politics and has been known over the years for tackling other national issues.

Heilemann is also an author who has written and co-written several books including New York Times No. 1 Best Sellers Double Down and Game Change, which he co-authored alongside Mark Halperin.

John Heileman was born in Los Angeles, California on the 23rd of January 1966 as John Arthur Heilemann. Although the names of his parents are not known as he tries as much as possible to keep his family and private life away from the media, his family is said to have originally come from Wisconsin. He has a degree in Journalism and Political Science from Northwestern University and a master’s degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Heileman has been in the media for almost three decades and in those years, he has covered issues on several fields including politics (particularly American politics) and business under well-known media houses like NBC News, where he has served as  an analyst in national affairs for many years, as well as for MSNBC, where he also does the same job of a political analyst and commentator, and would sometimes appear on other shows of the network like Morning Joe, Hardball, The Last Word, Deadline: White House, among others.

He co-produced and hosted The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth – a weekly political documentary series, which covered the 2016 presidential campaign, as well as the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency. He served as co-managing editor of Bloomberg Politics during the 2016 election season and also co-anchored With All Due Respect which aired on both MSNBC and Bloomberg. Before this time, he had already worked with New York magazine as their national affairs editor and also as a staff writer for The New Yorker, The Economist, and Wired, taking readers behind closed doors from Washington to Wall Street.

John is also a great writer who has authored and co-authored several books, including The New York Times No. 1 bestsellers Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime, on the 2008 presidential election, and Double Down: Game Change 2012. HBO adapted the first Game Change book into a movie of the same name and it went ahead to win several awards, including 5 Emmys, 3 Golden Globes, and one Peabody Award. John Heilemann has equally won several awards for his skills in writing. He is a recipient of the Best American Crime Writing Award and the Best American Political Writing Awards.

He is currently working on new episodes of The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth, alongside Mark McKinnon and Alex Wagner, which is scheduled to start airing in the Spring of 2018. He has equally become an occasional guest on the Tony Kornheiser Show.
