Joey Bragg rose to fame in his locality as a stand up comic before setting out on a successful acting career in both film and television. He was born on July 20, 1996, as Joseph Franklin Bragg in Union City, the Sunny state California to a Jewish family. Growing up, Joey has this innate ability to crack up a rib or two either by what he says or simply does. A few months after his 13th birthday, he started performing as a stand-up comic and subsequently, he decided to enter for competitions within his locale to try his wit against others. By so doing, he not only won comedy competitions throughout the San Francisco Bay Area but also rose to fame as a young comic among the locals.

Braggs was not only good into eliciting humor but also in skating. He participated with the California Cougars Pee Wee “B” Ice Hockey championship when he was 12. He still skates and is fantastic and extremely graceful at it. For his education, Joey Bragg attended James Logan High School, a public school in the New Haven Unified School District in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as the only public high school in Union City.

In 2012, he was cast in the Disney XD unsold television pilot Gulliver Quinn as Karl and later in the same year, played the role of Peter Magoo in the TV film Fred 3: Camp Fred. However, he struck a deal with stardom the following year when he appeared in the Disney Channel sitcom Liv and Maddie as Joey Rooney through the years the series aired (2013-2017). He is also known to his fans by his characters’ names such as Joey Rooney and Magoo.

Following the clinching of his fame ticket with Liv and Maddie, Bragg scored some roles within the years he was on the series. He reprised his role as Joey in an episode of Jessie in 2014 and co-headlined the Disney XD TV film Mark & Russell’s Wild Ride (2015) as Mark Wellner. Also in 2015, he starred in the high school baseball film The Outfield as Austin York alongside Nash Grier and Cameron Dallas. Before the end of his famous series, he also featured in the police procedural crime drama TV series Criminal Minds as Kyle Ekland in 2016 and in 2017, he was cast as Seth in 3 out of the 8 episodes of the Netflix satirical comedy web television series Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later.

He landed a role as Ben on another Netflix project, this time, a film titled Father of the Year in 2018. The film also starred Bridgit Mendler as his love interest and Jared Sandler as his friend. Additionally, he appeared on Nickelodeon’s series The Thundermans as Balfour The Gamer in The Thunder Games episode. The film, Reach where he portrays Richard is in the post-production phase.

Bragg is a man of many talents and embraces his prowess fully. Apart from the several works for which he is famed, he is also good in photography. Though he is not a professional yet in the field, he takes good and impressive shots in different styles and postures. Moreover, he is a member of the Disney Channel Circle of Stars music group.

Family – Siblings

Joey is one of four children born into a family of six. He is the second son and has one older brother, Jack (b. 1994) and two younger siblings including a sister named Dove. Although he has not mentioned his folks’ names, he does not hold back in posting their pictures on social media and gushing over them.

Besides his family who he considers the most important people in his life, another special person in the life of the actor is his adorable girlfriend, Audrey Whitby (b. April 10, 1996). She is a Tennessee native and also an actress. The duo met in 2013 on the set of Liv and Maddie and has clung together since then. There is a possibility of an eventual marriage as indicated by Joey in his post for Whitby’s 21st birthday. Audrey also starred in The Thundermans.

During his early years as an actor and slightly before he met Audrey, gay rumors about him lingered for a while, probably because of his striking features. However, he refuted those claims in a 2012 Twitter post, making clear his orientation as straight.
