Jeremy Jordan obviously isn’t gay. He is married to a woman in the person of Ashley Spencer. However, in June 2016, he took to his Facebook page and Twitter to inform the public about his cousin named Sarah who was sent to a remote Christian Boarding Facility in Texas to “pray away her being gay” for one year. Jeremy saw this as being inappropriate for the then 18-year-old woman and had to set up a GoFundMe page to create awareness and raise funds for freeing her from the remote gay correctional facility. He opined with findings from the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics that such treatments are psychologically damaging to patients. Furthermore, he made it known to the concerned public that the success of freeing his cousin Sara would open the door for many other teens to embrace their sexuality the way they are in a world full of love and acceptance for them. His outcry got responses from other gay celebrities and gay rights advocate members of the public and after 5 days of making the Facebook post, his cousin came home from the facility.
