Biography

Jeremy Buendia was born on the 10th of October 1990 in Roseville, California. When he was a child, he was motivated by his father who was a non-professional bodybuilder. This eventually propelled him to venture into bodybuilding early in life. While he was growing up, Jeremy had this innate competitive nature, and that happens to be one of the principal reasons he was able to ascend the ladder of success.

When Jeremy Buendia was in high school, he developed interests in football. During his years in school, he was proficient as a line-back. Jeremy was able to clinch the all-league honour despite the fact that he developed an injury. Unfortunately, he later gave up on football as a result of several injuries and college obligations. Nevertheless, his doggedness motivated him to venture into bodybuilding.

Career

Buendia is a professional bodybuilder and weightlifter. He ventured into the career because of the vast experience he had with weightlifting. After he graduated from high school, he made up his mind to take part in competitions. His first competition triggered him to compete professionally. The dogged Buendia clinched the number sixth position at the 2008 INBF Capital City Natural Bodybuilding and Figure Championships. Coming in at sixth position did not go down well with him, so, he decided to take a break from the spotlight in order to train harder, learn from his past experiences, and come back with a better physique.

After a couple of years of backbreaking work and persistence, Jeremy returned with an amazing physique to the show. At age 17, he mounted the stage and literally impressed everyone. He won the competition and clinched his first show at the 2010 Contra Costa Championships. Giving credit to his swift success, Buendia knew that bodybuilding was his ardour. He concluded the year by clinching the number 3 position at the 2010 NPC California State Building Championships and he also prepared for more prestigious competitions ahead.

Jeremy Buendia went on a break for a year before he started seeing results. At first, he was fortunate to be the runner-up at the 2012 NPC California Governor’s Cup Championships. That same year, he won the NPC Excalibur. After that, he began making preparations for one of the most highly competitive challenges he was to encounter at the 2013 NPC Amateur Grand Prix in Los Angeles. He won that show, and he further clinched the number 1 position at the NPC Excalibur Championships. After Buendia won some of the toughest shows he partook in, he went on to get his pro card.

2013 Onwards

Jeremy started getting ready for one of the most significant competitions in his career. It was the 2013 NPC Junior Championships, and in no time, he displayed his full potentials. After he had spent so much time dieting and engaging in rigorous exercises, Buendia showcased his well-built physique and won the show. Jeremy Buendia successfully got his pro card after that competition. Moving on, he then qualified for the IFBB Professional League competition. Jeremy knew he was going to be among the men who possess the best physique in the world at Mr.Olympia. After he was given his pro card, he was elated, knowing that his dream has manifested.

Still, in 2013, Jeremy won the Sacramento Pro, the IFBB, and Greater Gulf States Pro before he went ahead to mount the stage at the 2013 Men’s Physique Mr.Olympia; where he clinched the number 2 position.

Consequently, Jeremy Buendia was thrown into a melancholic state because he came 2nd and he promised himself it won’t repeat itself again. As a result of his hard work and determination, he won the first position at the 2014 IFBB San Jose Pro and also won the 2014 Mr.Olympia. Jeremy won Mr.Olympia two times back-to-back; beating other competitors who partook in the 2015 and 2016 version of the show.
