Is Steve Burns Married or Dating Anyone?

Steve Burns is currently not married and is not in a relationship at the moment.

The 50-year-old American actor, singer, and musician who made a name as the host of Blue’s Clues from 1996 to 2002 is no stranger to having the public and the media speculating about his life. On one of such occasions, it was rumored that he was dead.

However, the speculations about his marital status have haunted him ever since People’s Magazine decided to include him in their 2001 list of Most Eligible Bachelors. With that in mind, let’s quickly explore the actor’s relationship status and why it is still a subject of interest to the media and the public more than two decades after he was mentioned on the afore-mentioned magazine’s list of most eligible bachelors.

Steve Burns Has Never Been Married

When People’s Magazine revealed their 2001 list of Most Eligible Bachelors, co-creator and long-time host of Blue’s Clues, Steve Burns was one of the most popular names on the list alongside well-known Hollywood stars such as Ben Affleck and George Clooney.

Predictably, the weeks and months following that revelation presented Burns with a unique opportunity to take his pick from the many female admirers who expressed an interest in being romantically involved with him. Inexplicably though, the Marie and Bruce actor never tied the knot with any of those women who would not have in the least bit minded being his wife.

To put the disparity between Steve Burns’ marital status and those of some of the big names he shared that list with, in context, it must be noted that Affleck and Clooney have been married twice and once respectively in the same just over 20 years period. Ben Affleck, who seems to have a thing for women named Jennifer, married actress Jennifer Garner in 2005, and after the marriage ended in 2018, he tied the knot with singer and actress Jennifer Lopez in 2022.

George Clooney, who many considered to be the eternal bachelor, shocked most of Hollywood and the rest of the world when he exchanged marital vows with British-Lebanese human rights lawyer, Amal Alamuddin on September 27, 2014. They have 2 children together, twins, Ella and Alexander Clooney, both born on June 6, 2017.

He Prefers To Keep Most Details Of His Personal Life Private

Just like many well-recognized celebrities of today, Steve Burns is noted for playing the cards of his personal life very close to his chest. One would think that following the media exposure his personal life got from being included in that list all those years ago, the much-loved television host would become better inclined to share details of his personal life with the public.

The actor, however, reacted and has continued to react in the opposite direction of the public and media expectations of him. As a result of this, he has been romantically linked to several women over the years, but there has been nothing to prove that he was truly romantically involved with these women.

These days, various social media platforms have made it relatively easy to ascertain the relationship status of notable celebrities, including those who claim to prefer not to have their relationships scrutinized by the public. Burns’ Instagram page would have presented the perfect outlet to explore the actor cum TV host’s relationship status.

However, the content he regularly puts up on that platform has provided very little insight into that aspect of his existence and left fans with more questions than answers about whether he has ever been married.

The Actor Is Not Married To Loonette

On January 20, 2020, Steve Burns took to his Instagram page to post a cozy photograph of himself with a relatively familiar face. The post was a rarity for the Blue’s Clues host who is very careful about giving the wrong image of his personality to the public and the media.

On closer scrutiny, netizens discovered that the woman in the picture with Burns was none other than Canadian actress Alyson Court. If that name sounds familiar to anyone who grew up in the mid to late 1990s, it’s because the actress was somewhat popular in those years.

Born Alyson Stephanie Court on November 9, 1973, the Canadian was the actress who portrayed the main character, Loonette the Clown, in the Canadian children’s TV series called The Big Comfy Couch. She played the role for the first six seasons of the show, which premiered on March 2, 1992, before leaving to focus on raising her child.

In a desperate attempt to get Steve Burns to be more forthcoming about the nature of his relationship with the actress, some media outlets and certain sections of the public began to peddle rumors that he and Alyson were married. It didn’t take long for both Burns and Court to debunk the rumors.

Steve Burns revealed that he and the actress were just friends. Independently, Court also posted the same picture on her Twitter page with a caption that essentially addressed Burns as her buddy.

To get a better insight into the close relationship that both entertainers share, one would have to refer to their initial meeting on an episode of Blue’s Clues as well as the one time they worked together on an episode of The Big Comfy Couch. The episode had been written by Steve Burns and directed by Court herself.

Furthermore, to solidify the claims that there was nothing but platonic affection between Burns and Court, it was revealed that the actress was happily married at the time these rumors started making the rounds. Her status as a married woman has not changed but she is certainly not married to Steve Burns.

Alyson court is currently married to comic book creator Z.M. Thomas. She announced that they had tied the knot on July 1, 2019. Before that, she was married to Erik Suzuki. Suzuki was a Capcorn voice and video game localization director and they were married for five years between 2000 and 2005. They had a son named Blaede Suzuki in January 2003.

Steve Burns Has Never Been In A Serious Relationship

Despite his reluctance to reveal details of his relationship status, verifiable sources on the actor, TV host, and musician’s relationship history have revealed that he has not had any serious relationship to date.

On one of the few occasions when Burns was a little bit accommodating of questions relating to his relationship status, he revealed that his status as one of the most eligible bachelors in the early 2000s allowed him to pick up women, including a model who used her date with him as a ploy to try to get him to host a children’s TV series known as The Balloonies.

Suffice it to say that that didn’t go well with Burns who politely turned down the proposition and ended the brief fling with the model.
