The show was filmed on the Chicago Island in Alaska during its early seasons but was later moved to Okanogan County, Washington. The American scripted reality show has now run for about 9 seasons so far featuring about 85 episodes. The show, which is believed to be scripted, is still termed a reality show despite uproars by fans, followers, and critics.

We know that the first season of the series aired on Discovery Channel on May 6, 2014 and ended on June 15, 2014. The second season of Alaskan Bush People started airing in December 2014 and ended in its 9th episode on February 20, 2015. The third Season ran for almost three months starting from May 22, 2015, and ending after the release of the 11th episode on the 7th of August 2015.

The fourth season which had about 10 episodes ran successfully from November 4, 2015, to January 6, 2016. It took well over three months after season 4 ended before season 5 started its broadcast on April 29, 2016, and ended on July 29, 2016, with a total of 13 episodes.
