Her birth name is Kimbra Lee Johnson and the names of her parents are Chris Johnson and Ken Johnson. Her mom, Chris, is an orthopedic nurse while her father Ken worked at the University of Waikato’s student health center as the head doctor.
Kimbra is a graduate of Hillcrest High School, where she took part in the national schools’ musical competition Rockquest for 3 years running and was awarded second place at the age of 14 in 2014.
