He was born Joseph Harry Fowler Connick Jr on September 11, 1967, in New Orleans Louisiana to his parents; Anita Frances, his mother and Joseph Connick, his father. Harry lost his mother to ovarian cancer in 1981. He is of mixed ethnicity; his father is of English and German ancestry and his mother was Jewish.

Harry started at a very young age of three to exhibit an inclination towards music. At that age, he was already learning the keyboard and started playing in public at the age of 5. When he was 9, he performed with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra and was also performing at events.

He is an alumnus of Jesuit High School. He also attended Isidore Newman School and Lakeview School. Harry also studied at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts where his passion for music was further motivated by Ellis Marsalis and James Booker. He then proceeded to Hunter college and also enrolled at he Manhattan School of Music and continued to harness his talent.

Harry Connick Jr soon got signed to Columbia Records and released an instrumental album, Harry Connick Junior. Another one tilted 20 followed. While the first consisted of instrumentals, the following album featured Connick’s vocals. The following year, he provided the soundtrack Whisper Your Name for the movie, The Mask.

Connick was very active in movies during this time. While he served the world with amazing works in music he was also felt in the world of movies. He played a serial killer in the movie Copycat in 1995. The singer and actor got his first leading role in the 1998 movie Hope Floats.

The talented personality is a staunch Catholic and upholds the values of the Roman Catholic church. Connick’s wife Jill hails from Texas.
