What Is The HGTV Reality Series, Good Homes All About?
The reality show revolves around real estate and it showcased the interesting journey Karen Laine and her daughter, Mina Starsiak undertake to transform old houses into new ones.
The two ladies usually work in their home town of Indianapolis, Indiana, where they have their real estate business called ‘Two Clicks and a Hammer Inc’. These ladies bring in their enthusiasm in house renovation in their TV series and one gets to see all the hard work people put in when renovating in Good Bones. More so, the various episodes on the show keep things very real on the show as they reveal the team members Karen and Mina usually work with to get the job done.
Good Homes Seasons and Episodes
The first season of the show started airing on the 22nd of March 2016 and it ran until July 20th, 2016, with 11 episodes. The second season of the show started the next year on the 30th of May 2017 through August 29, 2017, showcasing 13 episodes. Good Homes season 3 which also had 13 episodes commenced on the 3rd of April 2018 and successfully ended on June 26th, 2018.
The real estate series was also renewed for a 4th season which commenced on May 14th, 2019 and ended on August 20th, 2019, with a total of 15 episodes. Good Bones season 5 is set to come out by 2020 as the series has already been renewed for a new season on HGTV.
Cast: Actresses on The Real Estate Show
Mina is one of the duo hosting Good Bones and the feisty young lady is just the right boost for her mum and partner on the show. It is known that Mina Starsiak did not kick off her career in real estate after earning her degree from Indiana University. This Good Bones host started as a waitress and after saving up some money, she bought her own house which cost her $37,500. This house definitely needed some renovations to be made and she had to call her mum to help her out.
It was during the process of renovating her house that Mina realized she wanted to take up renovating houses as a career. This instantly gave rise to ‘Two Chicks And A Hammer’ – a real estate firm she began to run with her mum. However, their big break came via Facebook in 2016 when High Noon Entertainment who was in charge of popular shows like House Hunters, Fixer Upper, and Cake Boss contacted them.
More so, this Good Bones star met her current husband, Steve Hawk via Facebook. After chatting as casual friends online, they decided to meet but their first date was terrible. Mina had to give Steve a second chance to fix things which eventually went very well as the pair got married in June 2016.
Karen Laine who co-hosts Good Bones with her daughter, Mina is actually a lawyer. She practised as a defense attorney but fell in love with renovating homes like her daughter and that made her partner with Mina to set up ‘Two Clicks and a Hammer’.
She has featured with Mina in all the seasons of the popular real estate series. However, it was announced recently that the lovely Good Bones star will be retiring from ‘Two Clicks and a Hammer’. This news was shared on Instagram by the company but the vibrant lady will definitely be seen in the upcoming season 5 of Good Bones in 2020.
It was also revealed that her reason for retiring is to dedicate more time to her marriage with Roger and Karen Laine would also love some extra time to go sailing and care for her chickens.
