Gia Mantegna was born Gina Cristine Mantegna to Arlene (née Vrhel) and Joe Mantegna on the 17th of April, 1990, in Manhattan, New York, although she was raised in Los Angeles, California. Her mother is a restaurateur while her father is an actor.
It is not clear where Mantegna received her education, however, she was a trained gymnast and ballerina at a very young age. She also beautifully honed her singing skills and learned how to play the piano and saxophone. At around the age of 13, Mantegna was able to make her acting debut in the film Uncle Nino (2003), which also starred her father. Joe Mantegna, who was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, but is of Italian, Apulian and Sicilian descent, began his acting career in 1969.
