On the 16th September 1981, Fan Bingbing was born in Qingdao, Shandong, China to Fan Tao and Zhang Chunumei. The actress has a brother – Fan Chengchen, who is also involved in the entertainment industry. She graduated from both the Shanghai Xie Jin Film and Television and theShanghai Theatre Academy as well. She made her television debut in the series Powerful Woman in 1996 but didn’t catch her big break till 1999.

As a pop singer, Fan Bingbing made her musical debut in 2005 with her first album Just Begun. On a more personal level, the Chinese actress started dating Li Chen, a fellow actor, in 2015. Two years later, precisely on Fan’s birthday, Li Chen proposed to her.

My Fair Princess was the series that brought Fan Bingbing to the limelight. She became a household name as the series made waves both locally and internationally. By 2000, she signed a contract with Huayi Brothers and throughout her time with Huayi, she appeared in 17 TV shows. In 2003, she also made an appearance in Cell Phone, a hit film by Feng Xiaogang. Other films she has appeared in include Twins Effect II, A Chinese Tall Story, A Battle of Wits and several more. She ultimately left Huayi Brothers to start her own studio – the Fan Bingbing studio.

Pictures of her childhood presented her as one with a plump and round face even on to her teenage years. But since her career began, her face has supposedly become smaller and more angular. Some believed she worked on her nose, chin and jawline.

Fan Bingbing was also seen entering a plastic surgery clinic in Taiwan with her boyfriend. When asked her reason, she claimed that she went to receive skin treatment which was recommended by a friend.

For several months in 2018, China’s top-earning actress – Fan Bingbing went missing. She was last seen in public on the 1st of July, 2018 and she last surfaced on social media on the 23rd of July, 2018.

Right before the reports of her disappearance, she was said to be involved in a tax evasion case with the Chinese government. It was initially reported that she was banned from leaving the country, although this report was later retracted. Many have speculated that she was imprisoned by the Chinese government for tax evasion. Many fans and loved ones have remained concerned as there is still no concrete clue as to the whereabouts of the superstar.
