Having started his football career as a youngster at Bradford City, Fabian Delph has achieved so much for himself, enlisting himself as one of the most accomplished English professional footballers in his time.
Generally playing as Midfielder and left-back, Delph successfully appeared in four matches for the English U21 team from 2008 to 2010, starting with Bradford City before he moved to Leeds United youth academy where he spent three years and played 45 matches. While at Leeds, he earned his first award as the young player of the year in the 2008-2009 Football League Awards. From Leeds to Aston Villa, the November 21, 1989-born English Midfielder and left-back made more achievements for himself after signing a contract with the league for an undisclosed amount. Although he struggled to gain a place in the starting eleven due to high competition at Aston Villa, Delph proved his skills when he scored the first goal for the league in an FA Cup match against Brighton & Hove Albion on 23rd January 2010. This led to the extension of his contract with the league till 2015. Under his new contract, Delph played against such clubs as Everton, Liverpool and Chelsea, resulting in him being voted as Player of the Year by Aston Villa supporters.
Following his wild performances at the 2013-2014 season and the 2014-2015 season, Villa decided to sign another four-and-a-half-year contract with Delph on 25 January 2015, keeping him at the club until 2019. During his contract extension, he captained for the first time during the FA Cup Final against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium on 30th May 2015 and signed a five-year contract with Premier League side Manchester City. He then debuted for Man City in a 2015 International Champions Cup match against Spanish Real Madrid and scored his first goal for Manchester City on 28 November 2015 against Southampton. His most notable moments, however, was when he made 14 consecutive starts for the club in season 2017-18. This led to him being named in the 23-man England national team squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
