Eric was quite secretive, so there isn’t any information about his siblings available for public consumption.
Nevertheless, sources have it that he was born into a decent family but not with a silver spoon. As a result, Eric had to do menial jobs as a child to survive.
Eric Hartter was a Professional Tattoo Artist
During his lifetime, Eric worked as a tattoo designer. He was very good at his job and thus known across the States. But his business gradually went down the drain when he allegedly added drugs to his hobbies. With time, he became the target of the police and anti-drug agencies.
Throughout his time on earth, Hartter was in and out of police cases. He has also paid huge amounts of money to the court for a couple of criminal cases and drug charges. In December 2018, Eric and two of his partners in crime were arrested. They had supposedly stolen a Red Bull worth about $200 from a CVS. Sadly, his involvement in drugs ruined his career as a tattooist.
He Became Popular as Kimberly Anne Scott’s Boyfriend, Eminem’s Ex-wife
Kimberly Scott was initially married to the American rapper, Marshall Bruce Mathers, popularly known as Eminem. Their union lasted two years, from 1999 to 2001, and though they were lovebirds as teenagers, their marriage didn’t last long.
After Kimberly and Eminem separated, Kim started dating Eric. However, their relationship didn’t last very long too. They dated between 2001 and 2002, and their union produced a beautiful daughter, Whitney. Whitney Scott Mather was born on April 16, 2002, and not long after her birth, her parents ended things and went their separate ways. Besides, they were not officially married.
Eric Hartter was Never Part of Whitney Scott Mather’s Life
Mr. Hartter never had a relationship with his daughter, Whitney Scott. He never had the privilege of being her father. When Kimberly Scott had their daughter, Eric did not bother going to the hospital to see them because he was on the run from the police at the time.
Regardless of his absence at their daughter’s birth, Eric kept asking to see his daughter, but Kimberly refused. Rather, she asked him to appear in court to prove Whitney’s paternity. On the flip side, Hartter could not appear in court. This is because he would risk being arrested for his heavy involvement in drugs. So, he stayed away from his daughter.
Aside from that, Marshall Bruce, also known as Eminem, adopted Whitney in 2005. Though Eminem and Kimberly were divorced, he had to take legal custody of Kimberely’s daughter. This was because Kimberly was struggling with drugs, and Eric had a couple of legal issues.
Eminem also denied Eric’s mother, Marie, access to her granddaughter. As a result, Marie sued Eminem for keeping her grandchild away from her. But the case did not hold water as Whitney grew up with her adopted family.
Aside from Whitney Scott Mather, Eric Hartter Had Other Children
The talented tattooist had never been married in his lifetime. After his affair with Eminem’s ex-wife, Eric kept the details of his life secret. But some sources have it that he never walked a lady down the aisle. He was more concerned about avoiding prison than raising a family.
However, it has been gathered that he had other children, but unfortunately, neither the number of children he had nor their names are available. We would later find out he had other kids with a woman named Sara Hubbard. This was revealed after she paid tribute to him after his death.

The 20-year-old shared a video on her TikTok captioned: “He’s not your real dad. You’re adopted.” In the video, Whitney was shaking her head and insisting that Eminem is her real dad while someone in the background was telling her that she was adopted.
