Erwin Bach’s Relationship with Tina Turner
Erwin Bach is known for being the second husband of the queen of rock and roll Tina Turner. The celebrity couple tied the nuptials in July 2013 after 27 years of dating. The wedding which took place on the shores of Lake Zurich in Switzerland was a grand affair.
A few days after their wedding, they hosted a grand star-studded party at their lakeside home with 120 guests gracing the occasion. Notable celebrities among the 120 guests include Giorgio Armani, Oprah Winfrey, Eros Ramazzotti, David Bowie and Sade.
The venue of the wedding celebration was decorated with 70,000 yellow and red roses brought all the way from Holland. The dress code was black tie for men and white and beige for women. The bride wore a beautiful gown designed by Giorgio Armani. In anticipation of an enjoyable party, the newlyweds apologized in advance to neighbours and other residents for any noise they might possibly make.
Erwin Bach and Tina Turner met for the first time in 1985. In the beginning, they were just friends but eventually started dating after some months, their affair which lasted for 27 years was always in the public eye possibly because of the wide age gap of 16 years between the couple. The couple’s marriage proved the saying that true love does not discriminate against age or race. Their marriage is not blessed with any offspring although Tina has two sons – Craig who is the fruit of the relationship Tina had with late saxophonist Raymond Hill in 1958 and Ronald who is her only offspring from her former husband Ike Turner.
Tina’s marriage to Erwin marks her second wedding, her first journey into matrimony was with the late Ike Turner which was regarded by Tina as a 14 year of volatile union. Little wonder why Tina hesitated to tie the knot with Erwin sooner, she was wary of the restrictions that come with matrimony. That may be the possible reason why the affair lasted for all of 27 years before the couple decided to do something about it. According to Tina, if you have love and you have a good life, then you don’t need to interfere with that. Marriage to some people means ownership which is anathema to Tina and can mean the beginning of the end of a good relationship.
When interviewed on why they have a protracted relationship, Tina responded that neither of them felt the need to get married, she also said that they already have whatever marriage will give them and that marriage is about pleasing the public, why please the public when they are already pleased. In spite of the wide age gap, Erwin and Tina have been living in marital bliss since their 2013 wedding and there’s no sign of trouble in their paradise.
