Emily Irene VanCamp was born on the 12th of May 12, 1986, in Ontario, Canada to Cindy and Robert VanCamp. She took interest in dancing at a young age and wanted to become a professional dancer. She was able to convince her parents to let her go for a summer training program in Montreal. She eventually got accepted at the Ecole Superieure de Ballet du Quebec.
By 1998, Emily’s interest shifted from dancing to acting after visiting her sister on a film set. After which, she began taking acting classes. Soon enough, she found an agent and began to get featured in commercials. In 2002, she was said to have gotten her big break in the industry when she was cast on the WB show, Glory Days, playing Sam Dolan.
