Death and Cause of Death, How Did He Die?
Drake Tester was like a ray of sunshine to whoever he met, but sadly and shockingly, he passed away on March 26, 2017, as a result of epileptic seizures, which he had lived with right from his birth. He was just a few months shy of celebrating his 17th birthday.
Drake’s seizure disorder was linked to epilepsy, a condition called “Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and a lot of children and young adults die from this condition every year. Medical professionals have gone further to define SUDEP as death from epilepsy that strikes suddenly and unexpectedly yet is non-traumatic and non-drowning. It also leaves no toxicological or anatomical cause of death detected and cause of death can only be detected via a post mortem examination.
Between 7.5% to 17% of all epilepsy-related deaths are said to be caused by SUDEP. The causes of SUDEP can include cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and cerebral damage or malfunction, and this is without leaving out the very devastating effect that the seizures – which are sometimes very violent, has on the body of its sufferers.
The exact detail of Tester’s death was never mentioned by his family, but it is connected with complications arising from the epileptic seizures that he suffers from and was born with. It was a condition that though it lasted for just a few minutes, had dire effects – constantly destroying his physiology.
