Drake Bell is an American actor, comedian voice actor, songwriter and musician, best known for starring in the hit Nickelodeon sitcom, Drake & Josh. Bell has won nine Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards for the show. He co-wrote and also performed the theme song of the Drake & Josh Show Found a Way.
Bell originally gained national recognition as a child star on another Nickelodeon sketch comedy, The Amanda Show which ran from the late 90’s through the early 2000’s. Drake Bell was a judge at the 2006 Miss Teen USA.
After filing for Bankruptcy a few years back, Bell has turned to his music in a bid to change his fortunes and restart his career. He’s been busy promoting himself on radio stations around the country, holding meet-and-greets with fans of Drake & Josh, and promoting the Drake Bell Entertainment YouTube channel.
Born Jared Drake Bell on June 27, 1986, in Santa Ana, California to Robin and Joe Bell, Drake is of English and Scandinavian descent. His mother Robin Dodson was a professional billiards player. He has three older brothers, Joey, Rob and Travis and an older sister, Kellie. His parents divorced and in 1995 and his mum remarried to her current husband Roy. This added a number of half-siblings on both his mother’s and father’s sides. He attended the prestigious Orange County High School of the Arts in Santa Ana.
Drake Bell made his first television appearance in a small-screen commercial for Whirlpool Appliances when he was just 5 years old. He has also done commercials for Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Crackers and Fruit Gushers. He made his debut performance in a 1994 episode of Home Improvement. Since then, he has proved himself in the twin arenas of acting and pop recording.
Bell has his own band Drake Bell, originally called Drake 24/7. He also owns a record label, Backhouse Records and is the Face of The Thirst Project – a Los Angeles based non-profit that helps to raise awareness and educate people on the clean water crisis.
Drake Bell’s career hasn’t been all rosy as he has had his fair share of ill luck. In the waning moments of 2005, the actor was involved in a car crash which left him with a broken jaw, fractured vertebrae, knocked-out teeth and severe facial lacerations. Worst of all, he lost his ability to play the guitar due to an extreme injury to the wrist.

His annual earnings had dropped from a whopping $408,000 in 2012 to a paltry $14,000 in 2013! He also listed his monthly income at just $2800, far below his monthly expenses listed at $18,771. He no longer lives in his home as it was put up for sale by the bank.

With a Hollywood career that spans over two decades, Drake Bell has sure had his fair share of celebrity relationships. His first relationship was with his The Amanda Show costar, Amanda Bynes.
He also dated Canadian singer Fefe Dobson, American actress Quinn Paul, Torrey DeVitto and late YouTube sensation Stevie Ryan. Bell was devastated by the tragic death of his ex-girlfriend Stevie Ryan in 2017. According to the Los Angeles Coroner’s office, 33-year-old Ryan had taken her own life. Bell has also been in relationships with model Melissa Lingafelt, Isreali socialite Hofit Golan, Tess Taylor and Paydin LoPachin.
At the moment, Drake Bell is dating model and actress Janet Von. The two had met through a mutual friend and they “clicked” instantly.

Going by his previous relationships, Drake Bell’s sexual orientation is straight. However, Bell came under fire after he made a transphobic tweet in reaction to Caitlyn Jenner’s public debut in 2015. Following the backlash, the former Nickelodeon star promptly deleted the tweet claiming it had been misinterpreted.

Presently, the “Drake and Josh” star is not married. Even though he has had a long list of celebrity girlfriends, he is yet to tie the knot. The closest he ever got to getting married was with American actress Paydin Lopachin. Their relationship lasted for 5 years and they got engaged. However, they never made it all the way to the altar.
