He was born DeMarre LaEdrick Carroll on July 27 1986, in Birmingham, Alabama. He is of African-American ethnicity and has an American nationality. Carroll started at a very young age to show interest and attraction to the game of basketball. He attended John Carroll Catholic High School, Birmingham where he played for the school’s team. He led the team to Alabama Class 6A state titles. He was really a standout player on the team, averaging 17.8 points in his junior year, as well as 19.7 points and 10.7 rebounds in his senior years.
