Dana Thomas Carvey was born on June 2, 1955, in Missoula, Montana. His mother Billie Dahl and his father Bud Carvey were both teachers. He is of English, German, Irish, Norwegian, and Swedish ancestry and was raised alongside 4 siblings, brothers Dana, Mark and Scott and sister Lori. The family relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area of California when Dana Carvey was still a toddler.
