While he earns a living as an American music producer, there’s barely anything known about the career accomplishments of Chris Ivery. Instead of being under the spotlight for his career exploits, Ivery’s relationship with a Hollywood star always takes center stage whenever his name pops up.
Admittedly, Chris Ivery seems to have it all figured out with his good looks, luxury life, a beautiful wife, lovely kids, and of course, a great life; what more can a man wish for? However, that much can’t be said about his past which was bedeviled by criminal offenses, about 13 if we are counting. All these in details as you keep reading.
Who Is Chris Ivery?
On February 7, 1967, Chris Ivery was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In the absence of any information about his parents and the family he grew up in, it is safe to assume that he had a rough upbringing. This assumption follows his frequent run-ins with the authorities starting from a young age. As far back as when he was 19, he started piling up criminal charges and was convicted of at least 13 of them. Some of his offenses include drug trafficking, postal theft, forgery, credit-card fraud, as well as probation violations. For his punishments, he has done time in prison three times.
He, however, managed to excel in his academic pursuits and got a degree from the prestigious Havard University. Chris is evidently a new man and is doing a great job at being a loving husband and a doting father to his wife and children.
As a record producer, Chris’ career has not been much of a public affair. His first recorded project is writing the lyrics of the song Cheers (Drink To That). The musical piece was featured on the TV show, Smash, it became a hit and in the process, Chris was fully ushered into the music industry.
Asides his musical exploits, Chris Ivery made an appearance in one episode of the MTV prank reality show, Punk’d, where he pranked his wife. The record producer has equally been a guest on the talk show, Entertainment Tonight.
Chris Ivery apparently earns a lot of money even though he doesn’t flaunt his career. His last estimated net worth was in 2017 and it sits around $10 million. His luxury Range Rover and a multi-million dollar beach house in Malibu are enough proof of the lavish lifestyle he enjoys with his family.
His Wife (Ellen Pompeo) and Children
Chris Ivery and Ellen Pompeo, a world-class award-winning movie star has been married for over a decade and are still making us green with envy with the way they have maintained a happy home amid controversies. The two met at a grocery store in 2003. They got talking and discovered they grew up just 10 miles away from each other and also support the same basketball team – the Boston Celtics.
After dating for a few years, on November 9th in 2007, Chris and Ellen got married. The wedding ceremony which took place at City Hall, New York had the sitting New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg as the legal witness. Barely two years after exchanging their vows, Chris Ivery and his wife welcomed a daughter, Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery (b. September 15th, 2009). The second bundle of joy came from a surrogate in 2014 – a daughter named Sienna May. Eli Christopher, a son, joined the family on December 29th in 2016.
Ellen was never kept out of the loop when it comes to her husband’s dark past. He told her everything and she accepted him without conditions. This might have something to do with the stable relationship the two have been enjoying since they met in 2003.
On the career front, Ellen is making more waves than her husband. She is widely famous for her role as Meredith Grey in the long-running series, Grey’s Anatomy. She earns $575,000 per episode and $20 million annually on the popular show. Apparently, Grey’s Anatomy is the biggest contributor to her net worth which is estimated to be around $40 million but she also has other film and TV credits. On television, she has played roles in Law & Order, Friends, The Job, and many more while her film credits include projects like Catch Me If You Can, Old School, Daredevil, Art Heist, Life of the Party, and a few others.
