Following Cott’s perfect interpretation of the role of Kevin Keller in the CW series Riverdale, speculations began going around that the actor may actually be gay in real life. However, despite the passionate kiss he shared with Joaquin and the portrayal of his gay character, the sexual orientation of Casey Cott is not gay in real life. He has never dated any man in the past and he doesn’t see himself dating any in the future.
Although he has indicated that he has now come to love playing a gay character in Riverdale, what he actually auditioned for was to play Archie Andrews and Jughead Jones. He ended up with Keller at the end of the day, and he did not disappoint.

Casey Cott was born in Michigan on the 8th of August 1992 to Rick and Lori Cott; but grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and attended Chagrin Falls High School from where he graduated. He was raised in a close-knitted family with a father who is an investment manager and a former fighter pilot in the Air Force. Casey Cott is the second child of his parents’ three children; he has an older brother named Corey and a younger sister named Carly.
Casey is not the only member of the Cott family to have an entertainment career as his brother Corey is also an actor and a singer. Two years older than Casey, Corey began his career in 2012 and has come to be known for his portrayal of Jack Kelly in the Broadway musical Newsies. He is set to take the main role in the 2020 TV series, Filthy Rich.

His mother, Lori Cott is very significant to Casey becoming an actor. She offered him a $50 incentive to take part in a school musical and that set the ball rolling for his career that later began fully with performances in local theatres in Ohio. After high school, Cott began studying acting at Boston University before transferring to Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, graduating in 2016.
While studying at Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, he got involved in the regional theatre there and at the same time, he worked on some University productions. In 2014, he starred alongside his classmates in a play Parade at the New Hazlett Theater, Pittsburgh, he was also involved in the production of Small Engine Repair at Barebone Productions that same year.
