Bobby Lee was born as Robert Lee, Jr. to his parents – Robert and Jeanie Lee on September 17, 1971, in San Diego, California. He is the first of two sons in the family. As early as 12 years old, Lee went through rehab following a serious meth and marijuana abuse. However, he got clean at the age of 17.

Lee left his parents’ house at the age of 18 after graduating from Poway High School in Poway, California. He worked in restaurants and coffee shops in order to make ends meet and at the same, he attended Palomar College.

His career in comedy started when in 1994, he lost his job at the coffee shop after the business closed down. Subsequently, he worked odd jobs at the La Jolla Comedy Store in San Diego and later tried his hands at stand-up during one of the amateur nights at the club.A year later he was getting offers to open for Pauly Shore and Carlos Mencia. He also got a regular job at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles owned by Mitzi, Pauly Shore’s mother.


Lee became the only East Asian cast member of Mad TV in 2001 and remained so until the series came to an end in 2009. He came back for a brief stint when MADtv swung back to action in 2016 on The CW.

Notably, Lee relapsed into drug abuse when a Mad TV producer told him they won’t be using him in the show a lot because he’s not funny enough. This ended his 12 years of sobriety but he got sober soon after following MadTV producer Lauren Dombrowski’s intervention in his case on the show.

Some of Bobby Lee’s other projects include appearances in shows and movies like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2002, Animal Practice in 2012, The Dictator in 2012, Hangover in 2010 and British comedy film Laid in America, in 2016.

In 2016, in collaboration with his girlfriend-turned-wife, Khalyla Kuhn, Bobby Lee started a weekly podcast called Tigerbelly.

Steve Lee was born on August 25, 1977, as Bobby’s younger brother. He also battled with substance addiction in the past just like his brother. After meeting David Chloe, an underground artist who brought him on board his famous podcast DVDASA – Double Vag Double Anal Sensitive Artist, Steve made appearances with Money Mark, Asa Akira, Dylan Fujioka, Die Antwoord, Eddie Kim, Bobby Lee and a slew of others. He would later start his own a podcast called The Steebee Weebee Show inspired by his brother.

Steve appeared in several non-speaking roles on Mad TV during his brother’s time on the show. Currently, he’s comfortable with the money he earns through his podcast.
