Having a top-flying professional basketballer get together with a Victoria Secret supermodel definitely makes for a royal couple. This was the case with NBA star Blake Griffin when he got romantically involved with runway queen and famous reality TV star Kendall Jenner. As it is with other celebrity couples, Griffin’s relationship with Jenner had it’s own unique twists and turns. We take a look at the facts and rumours about their relationship, how it all began, how long it lasted and every other thing in between.
How Did Blake Griffin And Kendall Jenner Meet?
Being a member of the highly famous Kardashian-Jenner family comes with a number of perks, one of which is getting to meet some of the choicest eligible bachelors the world has got to offer. Several members of the highly famous clan have gotten together with pro athletes at different points in history. Jenner’s older sister Khloe Kardashian is currently in a relationship with NBA star Tristan Thompson and her ex-husband Lamar Odom was also a highly successful pro basketballer. Her other equally popular sister Kim Kardashian was also at some point married to NBA player Kris Humphries.
However, unlike the highly-publicised love lives of her big sisters, Kendall Jenner has a reputation of keeping her private life on a low. The gorgeous supermodel did a really good job at keeping her relationship with Blake Griffin off the media radar and as such, certain juicy details about their romance evaded the public. The manner in which the couple first met was not precisely revealed as the duo barely acknowledged that they were an item. Nevertheless, it’s been reported that being both residents of Los Angeles, the two easily struck up a friendship after meeting in passing on a few occasions.
Their Relationship Timeline3
Griffin was first spotted with Jenner in public in the summer of 2017 and afterwards, things progressed really quickly between the two. Though both parties remained unwilling to give an official verbal confirmation, their relationship did not remain a secret for long. They easily became regular hangout buddies and Jenner became a particularly regular attendee at Griffin’s home games with the LA Clippers.
In early August 2017, the Griffin and Jenner duo attended a Kendrick Lamar concert at the Staples Center after which they headed to a Travis Scott concert afterparty at Avenue nightclub in Los Angeles. A few weeks later, the A-list couple had a double date with Jenner’s BFF Hailey Baldwin and another NBA star Chandler Parsons. The duo continued spending time together all through August and in the months that followed.
In mid-October 2017, the couple also had a special double date at Universal Studios in Hollywood alongside Jenner’s equally famous younger sister Kylie and her rapper baby daddy Travis Scott. On October 19, Kendall was spotted on the courtside of the Staples Centre when Griffin’s L.A. Clippers played opposite their city rivals the L.A. Lakers. In a similar fashion, Griffin was in attendance in early November when the supermodel celebrated her 22nd birthday at LA’s Petit Taqueria restaurant alongside her parents Kris and Caitlyn Jenner and other members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
Kendall Jenner and Blake Griffin made their red carpet debut on November 29, 2017, at the Los Angeles premiere of The 5th Quarter, however, they consciously avoided being photographed together throughout the event. Jenner was also present on December 8, 2017, when Griffin hosted a stand-up comedy show to raise funds for his Team Griffin Foundation, the non-profit organization he established back in 2015.
Why Did They Break Up?
Blake Griffin’s super-private relationship with Kendall Jenner came to an end in early 2018. The two were spotted several times in public after the Christmas and New Year holiday season, however, that did not continue for long. Their apparent breakup coincided with Griffin’s move to the Detroit Pistons in late January and it is widely believed on several quarters that the A-list couple grew apart as a result of distance. The rumours of their split were eventually confirmed in May 2018 when Griffin was spotted out and about at a Miami beach with his new bikini designer girlfriend Francesca Aiello.
