When Bitty Schram was written out of Monk and replaced with Traylor Howard of Two Guys and a Girl, many of her fans and lovers of the show wondered why, because, really, Bitty was pretty good at what she does, as we all would agree that her chemistry with Tony Shalhoub makes the show wow!
First, it was speculated that the producers of the show probably dumped Bitty for a younger actress in order to attract younger viewers. Then, it was speculated that she left the show based on contract/money issues. But it turned out not to be the case and that Schram and the producers just parted ways amicably, as both USA and Bitty’s management described her exit as nothing more than a change in creative direction.
Bitty, however, returned to the show as a guest star in the season 8 episode entitled Mr. Monk and Sharona. Sharona returns to San Francisco after the death of her uncle Howard Fleming (who Monk believes was murdered and not killed in an accident they were made to believe). It was also discovered in the episode that Sharona and Trevor were no longer together and that Sharona’s son Benjy was making plans to attend college. Viewers also got to know in this episode that Sharona and Randy may be dating. In the final episode of the series, Randy relocated to Summit, New Jersey to live with Sharona.
Born July 17th, 1968 as Elizabeth Natalie Schram, Bitty became widely known for playing Sharon Fleming (a divorced licensed vocational nurse and a single mom from New Jersey) in the TV series Monk which was aired on USA Network from 2001 to 2009.
Schram began featuring in the TV series from its inception till she was dropped in 2004. She was nominated the same year for a Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy series but didn’t win.
Bitty’s parents divorced when she was about ten years old and she is the second out of the four children her parents had.
She bagged a degree in advertising design from the University of Maryland where she studied through a tennis scholarship. After graduation, she followed her passion, pursuing acting roles in both Broadway theatre, TV, and films.
Schram’s role as Evelyn Gardner (the Rockford Peaches’ right fielder) in the 1992 film A League of Their Own, directed by Penny Marshall gave her some credit and brought other producers calling for her.
Her other movies include Unconditional Love, Cleopatra’s Second Husband, Fathers & Sons, One Fine Day (alongside George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer), The Pallbearer, The Sure Hand of God amongst many more.
She is also an accomplished stage actress, between 1993 and 1995, Bitty Schram featured in the original Broadway play production Laughter on the 23rd Floor by of Neil Simon. She also appeared in Warren Leight’s One Acts and in Slow Dance on the Killing Ground.
Although the exact figure of her salary and earnings is not known, her net worth is estimated at 2.5 million dollars.
Is Bitty Schram Married? Who Is Her Husband?
The Monk star has been very secretive about her personal life that no one has been able to give answers to the above questions in many years.
Although there have been rumors about her affairs, secret boyfriends, and spouse, there has not been a single detail about her love life or married life and she has neither denied any of the rumors.
