Ben Stiller’s Dad & Mom
We already know that Ben is ‘comedy royalty’, yes his parents have both made their mark in the comic scene and have even starred in a few movies alongside him. His dad is Gerald Isaac “Jerry” Stiller is an American comedian and actor. He is best known for his unique angry, yelling acting style.
His mom on the other hand was Anne Meara Stiller, along with her husband she was one half of the comedy duo that was popular primarily in the 1960s and 1970s. They made frequent appearances on television variety shows such as The Ed Sullivan Show.
They had a fulfilling career till their decline when variety series gradually disappeared. Their own 1986 TV sitcom, The Stiller and Meara Show, in which Stiller played the deputy mayor of New York City and Meara portrayed his wife, a TV commercial actress, was not widely received by audiences.
The couple was married from 1954 until the day of Anne’s death on May 23, 2015. She was born Roman Catholic but converted to Judaism after she married Jerry. Meara claimed that it was not prompted by her marriage but by the fact that she was done with being a Roman Catholic. She was so devout that Jerry actually said that she made him a better Jew.
Upon her death, no exact cause of death was cited, but it is assumed that she passed away after a period of brief illness. Prior to Meara’s death in 2015, the duo were starring in a web series from Red Hour Digital, in which they discussed current topics.
Ben Stiller’s Kids
Ben Stiller’s wife and him have two kids together, Ella and Quinn Stiller are following in their parents footsteps as they are already voice actors. The first is a girl and as you must know already, her name is Ella Olivia Stiller and she was born on 9 April 2002. Her brother is Quinlin Dempsey Stiller and he was born on 10 July 2005.
Growing up in a family where showbiz is the family business has certainly taken a toll on the kids. Last year, Stiller’s son Quinn showed that he shares his parent’s sense of humor. According to Huffington Post, at the “Zoolander 2” world premiere, the then ten-year-old skillfully mastered his father’s iconic Blue Steel look from the film. Not only that, but he nailed it in every single shot.
Ella, on the other hand is at that stage where she doesn’t think her parents are cool anymore, I know right, crazy stuff. Her parents hang out with Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, how much cooler does it get. Taylor still insisted that she and her husband are doing OK, after saying, ‘ We’re at the age where our daughter gets embarrassed of us no matter what we do.’
