The family would later move to Napanee, Ontario an even smaller town to Belleville. They attended the Evangel Temple where young Avril began singing in the choir at the age of ten. Avril, while growing up learned to play instruments like the guitar and piano among others. Her dad had a studio built in the basement and bought a sound machine for Avril to hone her skills. She began supposedly with country music before she decided to explore other genres. By the time she was a teenager, she had begun writing her own songs.
Avril started performing very early in her life, at church, at county fairs and the likes; and it was at one of these performances that her first manager, Cliff Fabri, unearthed her as a talent at a performance in a bookstore. She was fourteen at the time. When she turned sixteen two years later, she would go on to be auditioned by Arista Records in New York City. In fifteen minutes, Avril was signed to a two-record, $1.25 million contract.
After this development, Avril dropped out of high school to focus solely on producing her first album and what an album it was! Is Avril Lavigne Dead or Alive?
There has been a rumor that Avril has been replaced by a lookalike named Melissa since 2003. The conspiracy theory states that Avril couldn’t handle the spotlight and had to use a lookalike but the real Avril would later pass away and the record label decided to continue with her doppelganger. Well, its quite the theory but it is false. Avril Lavigne is alive and rocking.
