The Year of Spectacular Men is a heavily scripted comedy/drama movie that revolves around a pretty fresh graduate Izzy Klein (the older sister of Sabrina Klein) as she strikes up and ruins her friendship with numerous guys, and tries so hard to find her way through the blunders of post-college adulthood, depending on Deb Klein (her mother) and sister Sabrina for support. Avan stared as Sabrina’s boyfriend Sebastian Bennett, alongside Madelyn Deutch as Izzy Klein, Lea Thompson as Deb Klein, Zoey Deutch as Sabrina Klein, Melissa Bologna as Amythyst Stone, and Cameron Monaghan as Ross. Following its release, the film was greeted with average favorable and approval ratings but information about its budget and box office earnings are still under the radar.

Paper Year brings to the limelight the story of newlyweds as they explore their first year of marriage in the face of a series of challenges. A Midsummer Night’s Dream was created based on the storyline from William Shakespeare’s novel of the same name. The Shakespearian adaptation, which was written by Casey Wilder Mott, is a modern narration of the iconic writer’s story. Mott, in the film, also moved the story from ancient Athens to present-day Los Angeles. The project features Saul Williams as Oberon, Lily Rabe as Helena, Rachael Leigh Cook as Hermia, Ted Levine as Duke Theseus, Hamish Linklater as Lysander, Avan Jogia as Puck, Finn Wittrock as Demetrius, Paz De La Huerta as Hippolyta, and Fran Kranz as Bottom as part of its ensemble cast. I Am Michael (2017)

I Am Michael is a biographical drama film based on the article “My Ex-Gay Friend” by New York Times Magazine staff Benoit Denizet-Lewis. Directed and written by Justin Kelly, the film tells the story of a gay activist (Micheal Elliot Glatze) who turns his back on homosexuality and becomes a Christian pastor. In addition to Avan who portrayed Nico Gladstone, other notable actors who had roles in the film are Charlie Carver, James Franco as Michael Glatze, Emma Roberts, and Zachary Quinto.

At a typical sweet sixteen sleepover, a group of teenage girls go on a binge engaging in a challenging game of dares. As the high jinks become more serious and the dares exceed the ordinary level, things quickly go amiss and the teenage girls unveil the truth behind the secret past of one of them.

Starring Britt Robertson as Chapin Wright, Raugi Yu as Mr. Wang, Scout Taylor-Compton as Liza, Aubrey Mozino as Mallory Silvers, Alexia Fast as Eve Spalding, and Janel Parrish as Cecily Gerber, Jogia was cast as a minor character (a teenage boy) in Triple Dog. The New Romantic (2018)

Yet another Canadian film on the list of Avan Jogia movies, this project tells the story of a student journalist (Blake) who documents her love life for her school paper. Unfortunately, after submitting her latest column to Matt, her editor, her column gets canceled for being extremely dull. However, Matt offers to bring back her column if she writes more interesting material. Avan starred as River Dewan alongside Jessica Barden, Hayley Law, Brett Dier, Camila Mendes, Timm Sharp, and Darren Eisnor. The 101 minutes long movie was written and directed by Carly Stone and rated average by critics.

Shaft (2019)

Shaft is one of the disappointing films on the list of Avan Jogia movies. It is both a critical and commercial failure, having grossed just $21.4 million from an estimated budget of $30–35 million. John Shaft Jr. (Jessie T. Usher) may be an FBI cybersecurity agent, but to find out the truth about the death of his best friend, he needs assistance from his father, which only him can provide.

Originally captioned The Outskirts, this film revolves around a set of misfit teens who work closely together with the purpose of overthrowing a well-known clique at their high school. The teen comedy film stars Eden Sher, Victoria Justice, Katie Chang, Claudia Lee, Ashley Rickards, and Avan as Dave Quinn. Directed by Peter Hutchings, the film holds an average rating on Rotten Tomatoes and other review sites. It was able to make $24,197 from an undisclosed budget.

The Drowning (2016)

This 2016 project follows a forensic psychologist tormented by his expert witness testimony that led to the imprisonment of a young boy for murder. When the young man surfaces in his life later, he is forced into careful consideration and reinvestigation of the case. The Drowning was inspired by Pat Barker’s acclaimed book, Border Crossing. Although Avan displayed an excellent acting skill in the project, the psychological thriller still received mixed reviews from critics and the audience.

The film holds a 50% rating approval on Rotten Tomatoes, 4.4/10 on IMDb, and 6/10 on eBlu-ray.com. However, its financial information is still under the radar. It is regarded as one of the worst films on the list of Avan Jogia movies.

Finding Hope Now (2011)

Finding Hope Now is a 2011 film adapted from Roger Minassian’s 2003 book, Gangs to Jobs. Starring Michael Badalucco, Stelio Savante, and Rolando Monge and Nick Rey Angelus. The gang/crime film is written and produced by Skin Mead while Jennifer Tadlock is its director. The film revolves around pastor Roger Minassian as he abandons the security of his pastorate and heads to the streets to render help to young gang members who are disadvantaged. Minassian ends up changing the life of a 16-year-old member of the gang who has no future prospects. The 2011 project is not really critical acclaim as it was greeted with poor ratings on a slew of film review sites.
