Where Is Angus T Jones and What Is He Up To These Days?

Angus T Jones came up in the entertainment industry as a child actor. He is most notably known for his embodiment of Jake Harper in the iconic television series, Two and a Half Men, in which he starred alongside Charlie Sheen and John Cryer. Although his role in the show was what skyrocketed him to global fame, Angus was already an accomplished child actor with several small and supporting roles on his professional resume.

Following his 1995 film debut in Simpatico, Angus went on to feature in television shows such as Audrey’s Rain, ER, and Dinner with Friends. He was also featured in movies like Bringing the House Down, The Rookie, and See Spot Run. He began playing one of the lead cast members in Two and a Half Men in 2003, and the show’s success led him to become one of the highest-paid actors around. Angus was headhunted by various companies who wanted to make him the face of their brand and offers for other acting roles kept pouring in.

During his run on Two and a Half Men, Angus picked up a TV Land Award, two Young Artist Awards, and a handful of nominations for his performance as the adorable Jake Harper. Since the show ended, Angus seems to have faded from the spotlight. His last onscreen appearance was in 2016 in the web series Horace and Pete.

Angus T Jones’ Biography

The child star was born on October 8, 1993, in Austin Texas. He lived there until he was four years old, then he relocated to Los Angeles with his parents and younger brother, Otto.

Growing up, Angus did not have a keen interest in becoming an actor, his mother believed that he had a talent for it and encouraged him to go for auditions. He started out with a few roles in commercials and online videos which then led to his first film appearance in the 1999 movie, Simpatico.

His breakout role came in the hit comedy film See Spot Run which saw him star alongside David Arquette

as the lovable James. More people took notice of him and the offers began rolling in. He went on to appear in a string of movies such as The Rookie, Bringing Down the House, and George of the Jungle 2. In 2003, Angus was invited to audition for the role of Jake Harper in Two and a Half Men and was given the part immediately after.

The show became an instant hit the moment it began airing. The hilarity of storyline combined with the eccentricities of the characters made it a fan favorite in no time. As the popularity of Two and a half men increased, so did the for Angus T. Jones. The actor was soon inundated with job offers, most of which he turned down. He was one of the most sought after kid actors of his time. In 2010, he became the highest-paid child actor in television history after Two and a Half Men offered him a 7.8 million contract to make two more seasons of the show. He was only 17 at the time.

Angus T Jones is also known for his philanthropic and entrepreneurial efforts. He has helped raise money for several charities, especially those focused on helping disadvantaged children.

By the ninth season of Two and a Half Men, Angus T Jones was already a young adult so he was given more adult storylines to portray the usual rebelliousness and sexual maturity that usually happens around this age. His character began drinking, using marijuana, and engaging in sexual relationships with girls his age and women older than him. The actor started to become uncomfortable with the role and voiced his concerns.

In October 2012, the young actor announced that he had found faith and was committed to dedicating every aspect of his life to God. He followed this up by getting baptized and began criticizing Two and a Half Men as an immoral and filthy show. He even went as far as advising people to stop watching it. These events led to him being written out of the show and replaced by Amber Tamblyn.

At present, Angus T. Jones is still living in Los Angeles, but he has left his acting career behind in favor of more reclusive pursuits and a life where he is free to do as he pleases.

Life After Acting

After leaving the show, Angus decided to embrace a life of normalcy by getting a college education. He enrolled at the University of Colorado to study Environmental Studies which he later switched to Jewish Studies. However, he dropped out of school to focus on building a new career.

In 2016, Angus began working as a manager in an events and multimedia production company called Tonite, which is owned by P. Diddy’s son, Justin Combs. He is still with the company today.

Angus has also denounced his faith and organized religion altogether. According to him, he no longer wants to be a part of any religion that tells him what to do with his life, how to think, or what morality is or isn’t.
