With about four projects which include mixtapes and albums under his belt, it is very safe to say that Andy Mineo has set quite an impressive record for himself within the few years he has been around in the music industry.

The rapper is known to have jointly worked with many prominent artists following his emergence into the spotlight. A Christian video director, producer, rapper, and minister, Mineo is a member of the 116 clique, a group of Christian hip-hop artists who preach Christ to the world through their songs.

While the numbers ‘116’ may appear odd, it actually stands for Romans 1: 16 which reads: ” I am not ashamed of the Good News, because it is the power God uses to save everyone who believes…”

The rapper started out by independently recording and releasing his debut mixtape titled: Sin is Wack in 2009. To his credit, Mineo’s fast-growing career has also opened up many opportunities for him to tour across the world as well as record many successes which include a handful of impressive Billboard-charting records.

Currently signed to Reach Records, Andy’s project with the record label was a studio album he titled: Formerly Known. It was released in 2011, after which he set up a 4-episode web series captioned: Saturday Morning Car-Tunez. His other music credits include, but not limited to League Chumps Season 1, In My City, Paisano’s Wylin, You Can’t Stop Me, Lay Up, Never Land, and Heroes for Sale.

Formerly known as C-Lite Born, the rapper was previously signed to Trace Music Group and Marshall Street record labels before his stint with Reach Records.

Andy Mineo’s Bio, Age, Ethnicity

The American rapper’s full name is Andrew Aaron Mineo. He was born in Syracuse, New York, on 17th April 1988. He was brought up in a single-parent home and later attended Henninger High School, located in Upstate New York. While in school, he was a member of Fat Camp group, which was then affiliated to Syracuse University’s Marshall Street Records.

After working as a producer in Henninger, Andy Mineo later moved to New York, where he re-dedicated his life to Christ and made up his mind to close down his production studio in order to begin a new life.

Andy was first led to salvation at a Christian camp, where he got converted with the help of his sister who was a counselor at the camp. He, however, went back to his old ways after he left the camp for high school, where he had no Christian support.

The rapper graduated from The City College of New York (CCNY), which doubles as the place he crossed path with Chris Leonard, who later became his music partner. The duo recorded their first song in the year 2001 and has remained inseparable ever since.
Although Mineo is a Christian rapper, he doesn’t really like it when people call him a Christian rapper. The New York-based rapper says he believes the identity ‘Christian rapper‘ turns off some people.

Mineo’s sister is called Grace Mineo. She was born deaf and is very passionate about her brother’s career. Recently, Andy did a wonderful song which he dedicated to Grace. In the music video of the song titled Heart my Heart, the rapper expressed his guilt of not learning the sign language which he said would have made communication between him and his sister easier. His song, however, featured a sign language which he incorporated in honor of deaf people.
