Aiden English’s Biography
The professional wrestler whose real name is Matthew Rehwoldt was born in Chicago Illinois on the 7th day of October 1987. After his graduation from Lyons Township High School, he proceeded to Columbia College Chicago, where he studied acting with emphasis on stage combat and in 2010, he graduated with a BA degree.
It is said that this artist developed a keen interest in acting when he was very young and by the time he was out of his teens, he already had about 20 stage productions to his credit.
And when he eventually embarked on his wrestling career, the training he acquired during his years in college came to his aid and gave him a unique attribute that distinguished him from other wrestlers. He was a fantastic entertainer and it was only normal he inked his contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). This happened in 2012 and it marked the beginning of his conquest as Aiden English under the SmackDown brand.
WWE Career Stats
Aiden was first assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), a developmental territory of the WWE after he signed a contract with the promotion. Taking up Aiden English as his ring name, he made his first television appearance on FCW television on April 8, 2012, where he teamed up with Audrey Marie against Rick Victor and Paige in an intergender tag team match. He lost many matches along the way but made his first television win on NXT 2013 episode when he defeated Michael Q. Laurie.
In collaboration with Simon Gotch, Aiden formed a tag team known as The Vaudevillains in June 2014. The Vaudevillains defeated Blake and Murphy at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn and won the NXT Tag Team Championship. As a member of Vaudevillains, Aiden enjoyed several wins and not too many losses between 2014 and 2017. On 5th April 2017, his partner Simon Gotch was released from WWE and as a result of Gotch’s dismissal, The Vaudevillains was disbanded and Aiden went back to his singing gimmicks.
Life after The Vaudevillains was a bit hard for Aiden who experienced defeat repeatedly at the hands of several opponents, even at the 2018 Royal Rumble match – he was eliminated by Finn Bálor. At WrestleMania 34, he was the first man to be eliminated.
The WWE star has been in a relationship with Shaul Guerrero, a former FCW Divas Champion; the daughter of former wrestling icons Eddie and Vickie Guerrero. Their official engagement was in December 2014 and they got married barely one year later on the 3rd day of January 2016.
Shaul, known by WWE fans as Raquel Diaz was with the promotion’s developmental systems – Florida Championship Wrestling and NXT for a few years but had to quit for personal reasons which were later revealed to be an eating disorder that made her embrace a rehab programme. While it is too early for us to wonder why they don’t have kids, the couple is living in marital comfort.
