There are people who seem to have a ‘broken’ sense of humour; they do not make jokes or break a smile when someone else does. Then there are others who can make you break into a fit of laughter with very unexpected utterances or simply just by keeping mum. Adam Eget belongs to the latter category.
The comedian and podcaster seems to have worked his whole life – at least as much of it as is known – in the comedy industry. Adam is mostly known as the co-host of the infamous comedy podcast series, Norm MacDonald Live, with host Norm MacDonald.
Early Life and Career Beginnings
Nothing much is known about Adam’s personal life. He has managed to maintain his privacy even as he rose to fame in the comedy industry. It is believed that the comic is half-Jewish and observes some of the Jewish traditions, like the coming-of-age bar mitzvah, among others.
Nothing is known about his family members either except that his father passed away from illness sometime in 2017. This was revealed in a tweet the comedian made in late 2017.
Adam Eget has spent his entire working life in comedy. However, he had a chance meeting with standup comedian, writer, and actor – Norm MacDonald under the Queensborough bridge in New York City which influenced his career significantly. Both men hit it off and have been inseparable since then. This is the part of the reason Norm decided to put him on his podcast.
Eget joined Norm as the co-host of his show Norm MacDonald Live which premiered on March 26, 2013. The show was available on Amazon Video and was backed up on YouTube. It features a talk show format and had invited some famous guests like Larry King, Billy Bob Thornton, David Letterman, Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, and Russell Brand among others.
Adam Eget’s Norm MacDonald Live received positive reviews from brands like Entertainment Weekly and USA Today. The show aired for three seasons and a total of 37 episodes. Its last episode was on October 3, 2017, and saw Norm and Eget close out the show with actor – Jim Carrey.
Eget teamed up again with MacDonald to bring a new show to their audience in 2018. This time it was a full-blown television series on Netflix. The series, Norm MacDonald Has A Show, premiered on Netflix on September 14, 2018. Here Norm and Adam Eget continue their penchant for unpredictable, off-kilter, brain bursting, and often reductive-but-acceptable comedy that their audience has come to love over the years.
Facts About The “Norm Macdonald Has a Show” Star
1. Eget Also Works At The Comedy Store
The Comedy Store, which is located in Los Angeles, is largely considered one of the most popular comedy clubs in the country. Adam Eget currently works as the manager of the prestigious club whenever he is not recording for his Netflix television series.
Before his time at The Comedy Store, the comedian was also the manager at Tempe Improv, a popular comedy club in Tempe, Arizona. It is unclear how long he worked there as he was previously a talent coordinator at the club before working his way up to manager.
2. Adam Is Also An Actor
The comedian has also been on other comedy shows and documentaries like Jerrod Carmichael: Love At Te Store (2014) and Louis C.K.: Live At The Comedy Store (2015).
However, Adam is also trying his hands at acting too. In 2015, he joined the cast of Fred Wolf’s Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser. He played the character known as ‘1965 Buffalo Bob’.
3. He Was Once Branded As Anti-Semitic
Some time back, on one of the episodes of their show, Adam Eget made a statement that didn’t go down well with their listeners and the wider audience.
They were having a discussion about the Holocaust and the suffering the Jews went through. During the discussion, a statement was made to which Adam added the word “allegedly” under his breath, as a joke. However, it was a joke too far for the audience who branded him and anti-semitic for denying that the Holocaust took place. This is even weirder given that the comedian is speculated to be half-Jewish.

Adam’s Instagram account suggests that the comedian and actor is a lover of all things rock. On his Instagram feed, he has pictures of rock legends like Morrissey and Iggy Pop. He also regularly posts about rock concerts, live stage performances, and classic rock albums covers.
