Every actor and actress has that one project that will forever be synonymous with their career. For American actress Abigail Breslin, the role that she is best known for playing is that of Olive Hoover in the blockbuster comedy-drama film, Little Miss Sunshine (2006). Her incredible performance in the movie earned her six awards from a total of fifteen nominations that included a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

How Abigail Breslin Became an Actress
Being the daughter of a mother who worked as a talent manager, it was no surprise to see that Abigail Breslin ended up becoming an actress. Just like she did for her other children; actors Ryan and Spencer Breslin, Abigail’s mother Kim first got her daughter a role in a television commercial at the age of three. By the time she turned six in 2002, the young girl had already made her first appearance in front of the camera.
Breslin made her screen acting debut in the Scifi horror film Signs (2002) where she played the daughter of actor Mel Gibson’s character. Her performance earned her multiple commendations from viewers and critics alike as the film also performed extraordinarily well in the box office.
Later that year, Breslin landed her first TV gig in Fairfax (2002-2009) where she played the role of Brooke Jacoby. In 2011, Abigail Breslin released her first single titled “Fight For Me” which was produced as a soundtrack for the film Janie Jones. Over the next few years, she has gone on to release a couple of other songs, including “Christmas In New York”, “You Suck”, and “Sleepwalking”. In between those times, in June 2015, she digitally released her only studio album to date titled The World Now.
The same year she put out her first album, Abigail added another title to her portfolio by publishing her first book, This May Sound Crazy – a collection of hilarious and heartfelt nonfiction essays. The book became an instant hit for its honesty in portraying the actress’s daily life as a young adult and putting forward observations and perspectives many readers found funny and emotionally touching.
What Has Abigail Breslin Been Up to Lately?
Abigail Breslin has continued to make strides towards leaving an indelible mark in Hollywood. Her most recent works are the films Zombieland: Double Tap (2019), the sequel to Zombieland (2009), and Stillwater which is set to be released in 2020.
Outside of her work, the actress has been the subject of numerous rumors in regards to her personal life. She was said to be romantically linked with Jack Barakat, the lead guitarist and backup vocalist for the alternative band, All Time Low. The duo, however, never confirmed their relationship as things look to have gone sour between them.
Breslin was then later rumored to have had flings with Australian guitarist Michael Clifford, and British actor Tom Sturridge. In 2018, the actress dated Ira Kunyansky, however, it is believed that she has moved on from him and is now in a relationship with English actor Freddie Highmore.
In April of 2017, Abigail Breslin shocked fans by announcing via her Instagram handle that she was raped by an ex-boyfriend but did not report the incident to police. She further revealed that she now suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of the incident.

Miss Sunshine, as she is often referred to due to her performance in the movie of the same name, has made a tremendous amount of money from her acting career that began in 2002. While what she was paid to take on her earlier roles is not public knowledge, it was reported in 2007 by Forbes that Abigail Breslin was among the highest-earning young stars in Hollywood.
The publication ranked her #8 in its list of “Young Hollywood’s Top-Earning Stars” as it estimated that she took home about $1.5 million in the previous year. In the years that have gone by, the actress has appeared in many more commercially successful movies to now be worth around $16 million.
